Eye Hospital in Kukatpally, Hyderabad
Full-service eye care for west Hyderabad — cataract, LASIK, SILK, retina and glaucoma, open till 8:30 PM on weekdays so you can come after work.
Timings
Mon–Sat 8:00 AM – 8:30 PM · Sun 8:00 AM – 2:00 PM
MediVision KPHB
The KPHB centre exists because west Hyderabad should not have to drive to Masab Tank for a cataract or a LASIK evaluation. It runs the same protocols, the same equipment standards and the same surgeons as the flagship, on a schedule built around people who work.
It is one of only two MediVision centres offering SILK — the flapless ELITA procedure — alongside conventional LASIK and PRK.
What KPHB does well
Every MediVision centre follows the same clinical protocols. What differs is what each one is built for.
The longest weekday hours in the group
Open until 8:30 PM Monday to Saturday, and until 2 PM on Sunday. You can get a full dilated examination without taking a day off.
SILK and LASIK on site
Both flapless SILK and conventional LASIK are performed here, so the choice is made on your corneal measurements rather than on what the building can offer.
Surgeons shared with the flagship
The same consultants operate at Masab Tank and KPHB. You are not getting a junior version of the service because you chose the closer hospital.
Straightforward parking and access
Off Road No. 4 in Phase 1, minutes from JNTU and the KPHB metro corridor.
A second booking line
If the main number is busy, 90000 16277 reaches this centre directly.

About comprehensive ophthalmologySymptoms worth an appointment this week
Most eye problems are easier, cheaper and more completely fixable when caught early. These are the ones we would rather see sooner.
Blurred vision that glasses no longer fix
A changing prescription every few months usually means something structural, not just a weaker lens.
Glare and haloes around headlights
Early cataract, or a corneal issue. Both are measurable in one visit.
Eyes burning by mid-afternoon at a screen
Digital eye strain and dry eye — treatable, and worth treating before it affects your work.
Floaters that suddenly increased
Needs a dilated retinal examination the same week.
A child holding books very close or squinting
Children rarely complain about vision — they adapt. Bring them in.
Diabetes with no eye check in the last year
Diabetic retinopathy is silent until it is not. Annual screening is the whole point.
Diagnostics available here
A diagnosis is only as good as the measurement behind it. These tests are performed at KPHB — you are not sent elsewhere for the basics.
- Optical biometry for lens power
- OCT retinal and nerve imaging
- Corneal topography and tomography
- Automated visual field testing
- Wavefront aberrometry
- Digital slit-lamp imaging
- Fundus photography
- Auto-refraction and vision testing
What actually happens when you come in
Budget about 90 minutes for a first visit — longer if your pupils need dilating, which makes driving yourself home unwise.
-
Registration and vision test
A short registration, then visual acuity and auto-refraction. Bring your current glasses and any previous reports.
-
Diagnostic work-up
Eye pressure, slit-lamp examination and any imaging your symptoms call for — OCT, fields or biometry.
-
Consultation with your specialist
You get the findings explained plainly, with the actual images on screen, and a clear answer on what needs doing and when.
-
Plan, costs and follow-up
A written plan with costs before anything is booked, plus insurance paperwork if you are using it.
Specialists you may see here
Our consultants rotate across centres, so the surgeon you meet at a district hospital is the same one operating at the flagship.

Questions about our KPHB centre
Where exactly is the Kukatpally centre?
MIG 332, Road No. 4, Phase 1, KPHB Colony, Hyderabad 500072 — close to the JNTU junction and the KPHB metro corridor.
What are the timings?
Monday to Saturday, 8:00 AM to 8:30 PM. Sunday, 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM. These are the longest weekday hours of any MediVision centre.
How do I book an appointment?
Book online through our appointment portal, call 040-4245 6666, or use the direct KPHB line on 90000 16277. WhatsApp works too if you would rather type than talk.
What cataract technology do you use here?
Micro-incision phacoemulsification with optical biometry for lens power calculation, and the full IOL range from monofocal through toric and multifocal. Femtosecond laser-assisted cataract surgery is performed at our Masab Tank centre.
Am I a candidate for LASIK or SILK?
That depends on your corneal thickness, corneal shape, prescription stability and tear film — not on age alone. The evaluation takes about 90 minutes and includes topography and a dry-eye assessment. If you are not a candidate, we will tell you plainly and explain what else is possible, including ICL.
Do you treat children here?
Yes — routine examinations, refractive errors, amblyopia (lazy eye) and squint assessment. Paediatric surgery requiring general anaesthesia is performed at Masab Tank.
Is cashless insurance accepted at KPHB?
Yes. We are empanelled with 30+ insurers and TPAs and handle pre-authorisation in-house. Bring your policy card and a photo ID.
